A Series: one platform, diesel or electric
A diesel counterbalance forklift carries its load on forks ahead of the front wheels, with the weight of the truck behind balancing it. There are no outriggers, so it can drive straight up to a trailer or a stack, and you refuel it rather than recharge it.
Four of the seven families on this page are Noblelift A Series trucks. The A Series is a universal platform for electric and IC (internal combustion) trucks, built with wide use of classic IC components, and the IC truck is convertible to an electric truck.
Where a diesel forklift makes sense
Diesel trucks are usually chosen for outdoor work with heavy loads and long shifts: builders' merchants, timber and steel yards, haulage depots, recycling sites and open loading bays. Refuelling takes the place of a charging cycle, which suits back-to-back shifts.
For yards, construction sites and uneven ground, look at the 2WD and 4WD models on this page, or our rough terrain forklifts page, which adds a lithium option.
Diesel engines produce exhaust, so for enclosed buildings and food areas an electric truck is usually the better fit. Our guide to lithium, lead-acid and diesel forklifts compares the three.
How to choose within the range
Start with your heaviest load and where its centre of gravity sits, not your average pallet. Where a spec table gives a load centre, the rated capacity applies at that distance; for the other models, confirm the load centre when you enquire.
Then check lift height against your highest stack, length and turning radius against your yard, and the engine's emission rating against any site or contract requirement. From 4 t upwards, our heavy-duty forklifts page shows these diesel trucks alongside lithium and electric models.

- 4,000–5,000 kg (CPC(D)40-50): 3 m lift height, 2,930 mm turning radius, hydrodynamic transmission, Quanchai, Mitsubishi or Xinchai engine.
- 5,000–10,000 kg (CPC(D)50L-100): 3 m lift height, 3,350–3,900 mm turning radius, Mitsubishi engines to 7 t and Isuzu from 8.5 t.
- 14,000–18,000 kg (CPCD140L-180L and CPCD160): 3 m or 4 m lift height (4 m on the 18 t), 900 mm or 1,200 mm load centre, Volvo or Weichai engine, fully automatic gear shifting.
