The route: the M9 from Junction 1 at Newbridge

Our address is Unit 2D, R6 Industrial Estate, Queen Anne Drive, Newbridge, EH28 8LH. We have no depot in the Falkirk or Stirling areas, so the distances on this page are measured from Newbridge.

From Junction 1, the Newbridge roundabout, the M9 heads north-west past Linlithgow. Junction 5 is signed A905 for Grangemouth and Falkirk and is the exit for both towns. Junction 6 has no northbound exit and no southbound entrance, so for both towns you leave the motorway at Junction 5 and rejoin it there on the way back. For Stirling, carry on to Junction 9 and take the A91.

Allow longer than the figures below at peak times.

Grangemouth: the port, its warehousing and nearby estates

Falkirk Council describes Grangemouth as a container port and a key intermodal hub for Scotland's logistics industry. Its Invest Falkirk site puts the Forth Ports estate at more than 400 acres, with warehousing on site, and its employment land audit records a programme of warehouse construction there. Away from the docks, the town has industrial estates at West Mains, Dalgrain and Powdrake; Powdrake Road is part of the route from Junction 5 into the port.

For work on the quayside, in yards and in port-side warehouses, the options in our range are:

  • Heavy-duty forklifts from 4 to 18 tonnes.
  • A2 Series lithium forklifts from 1.5 to 18 tonnes, IPX4 rated for indoor and outdoor use. See lithium-ion forklifts.
  • A Series IC forklifts from 2 tonnes, running on diesel or LPG. See diesel and LPG forklifts.
  • Reach trucks from 1.5 to 2 tonnes for racked port-side warehousing. The C Series Superelastic Tyre Reach Truck (RT16C) is for sites where it also works outside the building.
  • Chilled or frozen goods: the NP Series Cold Store Electric Forklift and the Cold Store Reach Truck, in our cold storage range.

Falkirk: business parks and industrial estates

From Junction 5 the A9 leads into Falkirk. Caledon Business Park sits beside it, east of the town centre, and Abbotsford Business Park is on the A9 to the north-east of the town. Middlefield Industrial Estate has trade counter units, and there are also industrial estates at Ladysmill, on Kerse Lane, and at Tamfourhill.

The council's employment land audit names manufacturing, construction, and warehousing and distribution as the area's strengths, and adds food and drink and timber processing. For trade counters and smaller units, our three-wheel forklifts start at 0.8 tonnes, hand and electric pallet trucks run from 1.5 to 3.5 tonnes, and electric stackers from 0.6 to 2 tonnes. Factory floors and timber yards are covered in the questions below.

Stirling: Springkerse and Bandeath

Springkerse Industrial Estate lies just east of the city centre and is reached from Junction 9 by the A91. Further east, on the A905 at Throsk, Bandeath Industrial Estate occupies a former Royal Naval armament depot. The Gazetteer for Scotland describes it as a large general industrial and storage complex for medium to large manufacturing and distribution users.

For a distribution building with high racking, our very narrow aisle trucks work in aisles of 1.6 m and 1.7 m with 1200 × 800 mm pallets and lift up to 13 m. Where goods travel a long way between the loading bay and storage, pedestrian rider pallet trucks, rated 2 to 3 tonnes, carry the operator on a platform.

Service and warranty on the trucks we supply

Our Edinburgh-based engineers install the trucks we supply and then service them, with planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and genuine parts. A 12-month parts and labour warranty is standard on a new truck. For a truck inside the port estate at Grangemouth, give any gatehouse or induction arrangements when you book a visit.

We service other makes of forklift as well as the trucks we supply. To arrange a visit, use the book a service form; our forklift servicing page explains how breakdowns are reported.

From enquiry to handover

Every truck in our range is a new Noblelift truck. Tell us the heaviest load, the lift height, the aisle width and whether the truck will work indoors, in a yard or both. For yard and dock work, mention the ground surface and any ramps.

We agree the specification and survey the site, remotely or on a visit, then send a written quotation with the full specification. We deliver UK-wide and hand each truck over with operator familiarisation.

Common questions

Do you sell forklift trucks in Falkirk and Grangemouth?

Yes. Grangemouth and Falkirk are both reached from Junction 5 of the M9, about 17 and 18 miles from our unit in Newbridge, Edinburgh, and we sell new Noblelift trucks for port, factory and yard work there, from 0.6 to 18 tonnes.

Which electric forklifts suit a factory floor in Falkirk?

For indoor work, the NP Series 4-Wheel Lithium Forklift comes in three capacity ranges: 2 to 5 tonnes, 6 to 8 tonnes and 8 to 10 tonnes. Where the truck also goes out onto a paved yard, the Q Series runs from 1.6 to 5 tonnes. See electric forklifts.

How long does it take to reach the Port of Grangemouth?

About 30 minutes off-peak, over about 18 miles: the M9 to Junction 5, then the A905, Inchyra Road and the A904 Bo'ness Road. Allow longer at peak times.

Do you supply forklifts to Stirling?

Yes. Springkerse Industrial Estate is about 29 miles from our unit, about 35 minutes off-peak by the M9 to Junction 9 and then the A91. We deliver UK-wide.

Which trucks suit a port-side warehouse that also loads outside?

Our reach trucks run from 1.5 to 2 tonnes for racked storage. The C Series Superelastic Tyre Reach Truck (RT16C) runs on solid rubber tyres for sites where it works outside the building as well as in the warehouse; it is rated 1.6 tonnes and lifts to 7.5 m. For heavier loads in the yard, see our heavy-duty forklifts, from 4 to 18 tonnes.

Which forklifts suit timber and building supply yards around Falkirk?

On rough or unmade ground, our rough terrain forklifts take 1.8 to 3.5 tonnes. There are IC engine trucks in 2WD or 4WD and a 2WD electric model with a lithium-ion or lead-acid battery, so a yard can choose engine or battery power.
