Newbridge to Fife over the Queensferry Crossing
Every figure below is measured from our unit at Unit 2D, R6 Industrial Estate, Queen Anne Drive, Newbridge, EH28 8LH, on the western edge of Edinburgh. We have no premises in Fife.
One junction north of the Newbridge roundabout (M9 Junction 1), the M90 leaves the M9 at Junction 1A, Kirkliston, for the Queensferry Crossing. Once over the Forth, Junction 1B (Ferrytoll) is the exit for the Port of Rosyth, 1C meets the A985 into Rosyth, and Junction 2 is the A823(M) spur for Rosyth and Dunfermline. For Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, northbound traffic takes the A92 from Junction 2A (Crossgates); it is dual carriageway as far as Glenrothes town centre.
Allow longer at peak times, particularly on the approaches to the Queensferry Crossing.

Rosyth: the port, the dockyard and Europarc
The Port of Rosyth, operated by Forth Ports, is a deep-water port and a fabrication base for the energy and shipbuilding sectors. Its agricultural products terminal, of about 200,000 square feet, handles cargo for the animal feed, food and drink and farming industries. Rosyth Dockyard is a ship manufacturing and assembly site, and the town has the Rosyth Europarc business park.
Quayside, laydown and fabrication work keeps trucks outdoors, often with heavier loads. The A2 Series lithium forklifts are IPX4 rated for indoor and outdoor use and run from 1.5 to 18 tonnes, and the A Series IC trucks, from 2 tonnes, run on diesel or LPG. Our heavy-duty forklifts cover 4 to 18 tonnes.
Dunfermline: Pitreavie and Halbeath
Pitreavie Business Park lies about 2 miles south of Dunfermline city centre and is reached from M90 Junction 2 by the A823(M). On the east side of the city, Junction 3 is the Halbeath Interchange, where the A907 and A92 meet the M90.
For racked warehouses, our reach trucks carry 1.5 to 2 tonnes, and the B Series Reach Truck lifts to 9.5 m for taller racking. On longer runs between dock doors and racking, Pedestrian Rider pallet trucks carry the operator on a platform, and the high-speed models travel at up to 12 km/h unladen.
Kirkcaldy: Mitchelston and the A92
Kirkcaldy's industrial and business estates include Mitchelston, Randolph, Hayfield and John Smith Business Park. Mitchelston Industrial Estate is on the north side of the town, close to the A92, with terraces of industrial and workshop units, and the Kirkcaldy Enterprise Centre within it has 20 small units of 28 to 140 square metres. The town still makes floor coverings and mills flour.
For the smaller units, our three-wheel forklifts start at 0.8 tonnes and have a compact chassis for indoor work in tight spaces. Where the truck also works on a paved yard, the Q Series electric forklifts cover 1.6 to 5 tonnes for indoor and paved outdoor use. For wet or washdown areas in food production, there is the Stainless and Galvanised Hand Pallet Truck.
Glenrothes: Eastfield, Southfield and Queensway
Manufacturing in Glenrothes includes electronics, precision engineering and aerospace components. Eastfield Industrial Estate fronts the A92 next to the Bankhead roundabout, with light industrial units and national trade counters. Southfield Industrial Estate, on the southern outskirts, is a manufacturing and engineering estate, where a bonded whisky storage site was developed in 2023. Queensway Technology and Business Park is on the eastern edge of the town.
For indoor production and stores, the NP Series 4-Wheel Lithium Forklift runs from 2 to 10 tonnes; see our lithium-ion forklifts. Electric stackers from 0.6 to 2 tonnes lift pallets into racking, and for trade counters and goods-in, the Atom and Edge electric pallet trucks start at 1.5 tonnes.
Servicing trucks north of the Forth
Servicing north of the Forth is the same work as south of it: installation, planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and genuine parts for the trucks we supply, by our engineers based in Edinburgh. A new truck carries a 12-month parts and labour warranty as standard.
We service other makes of forklift too; phone 0131 605 0238 with the make and model. Our forklift servicing page has more detail, or you can book a service.
Arranging a survey and quote for a Fife site
Send the heaviest load, the highest lift and the narrowest aisle with your enquiry, and say whether the truck also works outside. From there, the specification is agreed and the site surveyed, either remotely or by a visit to Fife, and a written quotation sets out the full specification. Fife is covered by our UK-wide delivery, and every truck is handed over with operator familiarisation.
Call 0131 605 0238 or email info@pristinemh.com, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, or use the quote form. The full range, from 0.6 to 18 tonnes, is listed in our product centre. For sites south of the Forth, see forklift trucks in Edinburgh or our Scotland page.
