Getting from Newbridge to West Lothian

We are at Unit 2D, R6 Industrial Estate, Queen Anne Drive, Newbridge, EH28 8LH. Newbridge is in the City of Edinburgh council area, yet every place in the table below is a shorter off-peak drive from us than Edinburgh city centre is.

Broxburn is reached along the A89, west from the Newbridge roundabout (M9 Junction 1). For the rest of West Lothian we join the M8 westbound at Junction 2, where it meets the M9. Junction 3 is the A899 for Livingston, Junction 3A the A779 for west Livingston and Bathgate, Junction 4 the A801 for Bathgate and Whitburn, and Junction 4A Heartlands. The A899 runs down Livingston's east side and links the M8 to the A71 on the town's southern edge.

Livingston: Houstoun, Deans, Brucefield and the campuses

The Gazetteer for Scotland counts seven main industrial parks in Livingston, with several large regional distribution centres alongside precision engineering, whisky production and packaging manufacture.

  • Houstoun Industrial Estate, between Livingston and Uphall, has factories making aircraft components, air-conditioning units, food and packaging. Where a truck works both the factory floor and the yard, the A2 Series Lithium Forklift, rated 1.5 to 3.8 tonnes, is IPX4 rated for indoor and outdoor use.
  • Deans Industrial Estate straddles the M8 north-west of the town centre and includes sizeable distribution centres. Our pedestrian rider pallet trucks, rated 2 to 3 tonnes, carry the operator on long runs, and reach trucks from 1.5 to 2 tonnes work the racking.
  • Brucefield, off the A71 about 1½ miles south-west of the town centre, is laid out in large factory units. For heavier loads, our heavy-duty forklifts run from 4 to 18 tonnes.
  • Kirkton Campus and Alba Campus lie west of the town centre, and West Lothian Council names the Alba, Kirkton and Eliburn campuses as the principal focus for technology based businesses. For stores and goods-in rooms there, N1 Series three-wheel forklifts from 0.8 tonnes are built for indoor work in tight spaces. Our automation range adds PUDU delivery robots.

Bathgate: J4M8 and the estates off Junction 3A

J4M8, the distribution park at M8 Junction 4 west of Bathgate, is what West Lothian Council calls a major location for logistics and distribution. For tall racking, the ProH High-Lift Reach Truck (RT20ProH) lifts to 12.5 m, and our very narrow aisle trucks work in 1.6 m and 1.7 m aisles with 1200 × 800 mm pallets and lift up to 13 m.

Whitehill Industrial Estate and Pyramids Business Park are both reached from Junction 3A. For trucks that work indoors and on paved yards, our Q Series forklifts run from 1.6 to 5 tonnes, with lithium-ion and lead-acid models.

Broxburn: East Mains and Greendykes

East Mains Industrial Estate is about 3 miles from our unit along the A89, the shortest run on this page. Greendykes Industrial Estate is the town's other industrial area, and meat and whisky businesses are among Broxburn's main employers.

For chilled and frozen stores, our cold storage trucks are the NP Series Cold Store Electric Forklift, from 1.6 to 3.5 tonnes, and the Cold Store Reach Truck. The Stainless and Galvanised Hand Pallet Truck is made for wet or washdown areas.

Small units further west, and Linlithgow

Burnhouse in Whitburn has the most of West Lothian Council's small industrial units, from 29 to 185 square metres, and the council also lets units at Armadale Industrial Estate and in Blackburn. In a unit that size, a Hand Pallet Truck, an Atom Lithium Pallet Truck or a pedestrian stacker may be all you need.

Linlithgow is reached up the M9. Its Junction 3 has no northbound entrance and no southbound exit, so from Newbridge you leave the motorway heading north and rejoin it heading south. Mill Road Industrial Estate, where the council also lets units, is reached through the town on the A803 High Street.

Service and parts for West Lothian sites

Our engineers for West Lothian sites are based in Edinburgh. They install the trucks we supply and handle planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and parts, on other makes of forklift as well as ours. See forklift servicing in Edinburgh to report a fault, or book a service.

Arranging a site survey and quote

Have your heaviest load, lift height and aisle widths to hand. We agree the specification with you, survey your site remotely or in person and send a written quotation with the full specification. Handover includes operator familiarisation.

Call 0131 605 0238, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, email info@pristinemh.com, request a quote or see our contact page. For other areas, see Edinburgh, Falkirk and Grangemouth and our Scotland page.

Common questions

Do you sell forklift trucks in Livingston?

Yes. Livingston town centre is about 9 miles from our unit at Newbridge (Unit 2D, R6 Industrial Estate, Queen Anne Drive, EH28 8LH). As an authorised Noblelift dealer we sell new trucks for sites across the town, from distribution centres at Deans to stores on the Kirkton and Alba campuses.

How long is the drive to Deans Industrial Estate?

About 14 minutes off-peak, over about 10 miles, by M8 Junction 3, the A899 and the A89. Allow longer at peak times on the M8.

Do you supply trucks or robots for sites on Kirkton Campus?

Yes. For stores and goods-in rooms, the N1 Series 3-Wheel Electric Forklift takes 0.8 to 1.2 tonnes and is built for tight indoor spaces. We also supply PUDU T150, T300 and T600 delivery robots; see automation. Kirkton Campus is about 11 miles from our unit.

Which trucks suit a racked distribution warehouse at Deans or J4M8?

Reach trucks from 1.5 to 2 tonnes, or very narrow aisle trucks where aisle width is the limit. Capacity at height depends on the mast and load centre, so we check it against your racking before we quote.

Do you supply single pallet trucks for small units in Whitburn or Armadale?

Yes. A Hand Pallet Truck (2 to 3 tonnes) has no battery to charge, and the Atom Lithium Pallet Truck (1.5 or 2 tonnes) is our entry-level electric model. We deliver UK-wide, for a single truck or a fleet.

Are the trucks new, and is finance available?

All of them are new Noblelift trucks, each with a 12-month parts and labour warranty as standard. Our funding partners offer lease or hire purchase finance, subject to status, and existing equipment can be part-exchanged.

Need a price?

Send us the load, the lift height and where it will work. We'll quote the truck that fits, in writing.
